Facebook roll out Messenger Rooms to make video call

Social media giant Facebook has made its video conferencing app Messenger Room live worldwide from today. Now any user can use it by downloading from Google play store. It can be used by Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS users. The specialty of this app is that up to 50 people can participate in video chats at a time. The Facebook company has officially announced that Messenger Rooms will now be available worldwide from today. To use Messenger Room, users have to update the Facebook and Messenger applications on their phones.

According to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, "recently Messenger Rooms have been made available first in the US, Canada, and Mexico and will further expand worldwide next week. Zuckerberg said that, Facebook's messenger rooms will help users with a video calling service for social interaction".

The company announced on Thursday that, Facebook's new video chat messenger room is now available on both Android and desktop. According to the company, this new service from Facebook is a new equipped feature and an expanded version of the existing Facebook Messenger application. This service allows up to 50 people to interact with each other using video calls without any time limit through the main Facebook application or the dedicated Messenger application.

How to use Messenger Rooms:-

The Messenger Rooms can also be used by users who do not have an account on Facebook. which means users who do not have a Facebook account can easily use the Messenger Rooms on their phone. However, Facebook while launching the latest tool of the company had said that, "there is no limit has given to how long a chat room will remain open". Let us know that, the user hosting the messenger room will have all the controls, who will have the right to lock or unlock the Rooms as per the requirement. In addition, he will have the right to decide who can join the Messenger Rooms and who does not. This means, the host will have the full right to add or remove members of the messenger room.



Like the WhatsApp group, here also the host who will create the room will have complete control over the users of the room. Remember, users will have to create a room to initiate a call on Messenger, without creating room no one will be able to make a call on it. According to Zuckerberg, for new features in the Messenger Rooms, the company will soon release updates for this application in the coming days.

Significantly, due to the Coronavirus Lockdown, everyone has to work from their homes. In such a situation, people are resorting to various video calling apps, so that they can connect with each other and complete their office work from home. And this is the main reason that the first week of April has seen a rapid growth in video calling apps. According to the report, the number of users using the zoom app had crossed 300 million users as of 21 April. Whereas in early April the number of daily active users of the Zoom app was 200 million.


Now seeing the huge demand for Zoom apps, other video conferencing apps like Google and Microsoft are also planning to bring new updates to their applications. Apart from this, recently the use of WhatsApp video calls was also seen to be increased. Because of which we recently faced the problem of lagging in WhatsApp. In such a situation, Facebook's messenger rooms are going to be very beneficial for users. Anyone can easily use it on their phone without having any Facebook account.
