The Indian government has banned 59 Chinese apps in India, a decision taken on Monday night. The government has taken this decision due to the ongoing disputes between India and China on the Ladakh border. Following this decision, TikTok and the Helo app have stopped working in India, and have also been removed from the Google play store and the App Store. The government has banned these apps keeping in mind the safety of users and society. Soon all online and offline Chinese apps will be completely banned in the coming days, and the government will provide Indian apps with similar features to users in place of these 59 Chinese apps.

TikTok & Helo Banned

India:- After all, the Indian government has taken economic action against China due to the ongoing disputes between India and China on the Ladakh border. Under this action, the Indian government has banned 59 Chinese apps in India. The Indian government has taken this action after speaking with the Ministry of IT and Electronics Department and has banned these 59 Chinese applications under Section 69A of the IT Act. However, the government took this decision on 29 June to ban 59 Chinese apps in India, including Tiktok, Halo, WeChat, UC News, and many more. Also, these applications have also been removed from Google play store and App store listings in India.

Indian users who had already installed Tiktok app and were using it on their devices and this app were still working on their phones even after it was banned. But now applications like Tiktok have stopped working across all devices in India, which also includes desktop websites. Upon opening the app, users see a notice on the popup window informing users about the app ban, and this notice will appear on every Chinese application in India in the coming days.

However, the Indian government was also receiving many complaints about these apps, Which stated that these Chinese apps were stealing users' data from Android and iOS platforms, Due to which questions were being raised on the security of the country. Also, the Indian Cyber-Crime Department and the Ministry of Home Affairs of India were demanding to ban these apps for a long time.

Safety and Security Reason:-

While banning these apps, the Government of India has issued a statement saying that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of users and it is an essential step to maintain the security and unity of the country. This decision of the government will help Indian applications to come forward, while China will suffer financially from it. On the other hand, the government is also working to curb imports from China and churn has started for this. Also, the government has started talking with Indian industrial organizations to ban imports from China.

TikTok and Helo app completely banned in India:-

According to the report, the Indian government has ordered Internet service providers to ban these Chinese applications in India. This method will work to restrict Chinese apps such as Tiktok, Helo, UC browser that requires an internet connection for live feeds. Following this decision of the government, now Tiktok and Helo apps have been completely banned in India and have also been removed from the Google Play Store and App Store. Now after opening the TikTok or Helo app in the device, it displays the notice in a popup window, which has been stated that " Dear users, we are in the process of complying with the government of India's directive to block 59 apps. Ensuring the privacy and security of all our users in India remains our utmost priority".

However, some offline Chinese applications are still working on some devices. But the government is looking for another way to completely ban these offline applications in India, and it is being said that in the coming days these apps will be completely banned in India, and no users will be able to use these apps in their devices. Also, the Indian government has ordered Google and Apple to remove these Chinese apps within 24 hours, and the government will provide Indian apps with similar features to users in place of these 59 Chinese apps.
