Redmi:| Xiaomi sub-brand company Redmi has finally launched another new budget smartphone Redmi 9i in India through an online event on Thursday. The Redmi 9i has been launched under the Redmi 9 series, which now joins the company's Redmi 9 portfolio with Redmi 9 Prime, Redmi 9, and Redmi 9A. Redmi 9i is a slight upgrade of the Redmi 9A phone, which was launched in India earlier this month. Redmi 9i has all the same specifications as Redmi 9A except for the additional RAM and storage options. Redmi 9i comes in two storage variants and three different color options in the Indian market. The highlight of this device is the water-drop notch display, single rear and selfie camera, MediaTek Helio G25 processor, and 5000mAh battery that supports 10W fast charging. 

The starting price of this device in India starts at Rs 8,299 and it will go on sale from September 18 through Flipkart India, Mi.com, Mi stores. It has been said that Redmi 9i will compete with its rival Realme Narzo 10A in India. So, let's know about the specification and price of this device in India. 

Specifications of Redmi 9i:-

Redmi 9i has a 6.5-inch HD + display with 720 x 1600 pixel resolution. This device comes with an IPS LCD display panel with a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, 1,500: 1 contrast ratio, 269 PPI pixel density, 81.0 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 270 nits peak brightness. Apart from this, it has given a water-drop notch display on the front panel for a selfie. This device also supports reading mode, which has been certified by TUV.

In terms of performance, this device is powered by an octa-core 4 * 2.0 GHz processor and is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G25 chipset and a PowerVR GE8320 GPU that is given for graphics. As for the software, this device runs on the latest version Android 10 based MIUI 12 ROM and is paired with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage option. Redmi 9i comes in two 4GB + 64GB storage and 4GB + 128GB storage variants in India. To store significant bulk data in the device, the company has given storage expansion support up to 512GB via a dedicated micro SD card slot in it.

For capturing images and videos, the device features a 13-megapixel camera with an f / 2.2 lens on the back panel, which offers portrait mode. While the front panel has a 5-megapixel selfie camera, which is placed in the water-drop notch display.

For long battery backup, the Redmi 9i is loaded with a massive 5000mAh power of the battery, which supports 10W fast charging that comes in the box. In terms of connectivity, it has VoWiFi, 4G, VoLTE, GPS, Bluetooth 5, Micro USB port, and 3.5mm audio jack. Whereas, there is a gyroscope sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and e-compass such features are given for the sensor. Finally, this device measures 164.9 x 77.07 x 9 mm in dimensions and 194 grams in weight.

Redmi 9i has been launched in India in two storage variants, in which the first variant comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and the price of this variant in India is Rs 8,299. While the price of the second variant in India is Rs 9,299 for 4GB RAM and 128GB storage option. This phone comes in three color options such as Midnight Black, Sea Blue, and Nature Green. 

The first official sale of this device will start at 12 noon on September 18 and will be made available for purchase through Flipkart, Mi.com, Mi Stores, Mi Studio, and other hosted offline stores in India.
