Xiaomi:-Smartphone production company Xiaomi has launched its latest budget smartphone Redmi 9 Prime today at 12 PM through an online event in India.  However, Redmi 9 Prime is debuted in India as a rebranded version of the global variant Redmi 9, which was launched last month in Spain. Redmi 9 Global variant was debuted in two 3GB + 4GB RAM variants, while the Redmi 9 Prime comes in a single RAM variant in India. Redmi 9 prime has mostly the same specifications and design as the Redmi 9 phone. The company is promoting Redmi 9 prime phone under the tag line " Prime Time all-rounder" via its official twitter handle.

 The main highlights of this device are that it has a full HD + display, a quad rear camera setup, a Mediatek Helio G80 processor that specifically designed for gamers, and a massive battery of 5,020mAh power. The company has launched this device in India in two storage variants and four color options. The first official sale of the device will begin on August 6 and will be made available on Amazon's Prime Day Sale event as well as Mi.com. Redmi 9 Prime has a 6.53-inch full HD + display with 1080x2340 pixel resolution. In addition, there is an IPS LCD panel, which has a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, 400-night brightness, 395 PPI pixel density, and 83.2 percent screen-to-body ratio. Apart from this, there is a water-drop notch display for the selfie, which is equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Further, the device also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock feature.

For speed and multitasking, the device is powered by a 2x2.0 GHz octa-core processor and is equipped with a Mediatek Helio G80 chipset. While it has a Mali G52 MC2 GPU for graphics, which is supported specifically for gaming. This hardware combination increases device performance. 

 In terms of software, the device runs on the latest version Android 10 based MIUI 11 operating system and is paired with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. Redmi 9 Prime is available in India in two storage variants like 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. In addition, to save significant bulk data in the device, it supports storage expansion through a dedicated microSD card slot up to 212GB.

Camera Features of Redmi 9 Prime:-

For photography, the Redmi 9 Prime features a quad rear camera setup, which aligns vertically. The quad rear camera setup includes a 13-megapixel primary camera with f / 2.2 aperture with PDAF support and an 8-megapixel f / 2.2 aperture ultra-wide-angle camera with 118-degree field of view (FOV). In addition, the setup includes a 5-megapixel micro and a 2-megapixel depth camera with an f / 2.4 aperture lens. 

 While for selfie and video calling, this device has an 8-megapixel front camera with an f / 2.0 aperture lens, which is placed on the water-drop notch. The selfie camera offers a 77.8-degree field of view (FoV) and a fixed focus feature. In addition, the camera has HDR support with LED flash feature and can record 1080p video at 30fps.

For longer battery backup, the Redmi 9 Prime is loaded with 5020mAh power of a massive battery that supports 18W fast charging, which offers 171 hours of music and 19 hours of video playback. While the company has given a 10W fast charger in the box that comes with the device. Additionally, it has a large 0.7cc speaker box that amplified by higher audio output, and it has a 3.5mm audio jack to experience better music. The Redmi 9 Prime has P2i splash-proof support that helps protect the device from water damage.

 Connectivity features include 4G, LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, IR Blaster, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack. While it has an accelerometer, gyroscope, light, proximity, and infrared are some of the features that are given for the sensor. Finally, the device measures 163.32x77.01x9.1 mm in dimensions and 198 grams in weight.

Price & Availability of Redmi 9 Prime:-

Redmi 9 Prime has been launched in India in two storage variants. The first variant comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and the price of this variant is at Rs 9,999 in India. While the second top variant comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage options and the price of this variant in India is Rs 11,999. Redmi 9 Prime is made available in four color options such as Space Blue, Mint Green, Matte Black, and Sunrise Flare Color Options. 

 However, due to Amazon's online "Prime Day" event, Redmi 9 Prime will go on sale for the first time in the country through Amazon on August 6 at 10 am at the same event. After the first sale, the device will be made available for purchase from August 17 at Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Stores, Mi Studios, and other selected offline stores.
